Against the Wind…

A short trip to Dalkey Island and beyond. This is something I’ve been thinking about for a while but haven’t had a chance to try. Until last Sunday. A sunny break during the windy and rainy season. The perfect moment to fly a drone over the sea. Especially if the distance is not too great.
Despite relatively good weather conditions, I did not manage to get close enough to my intended destination - the Muglins Lighthouse. The wind was too strong and losing my gear in the water was out of the question…even for better photographs.

Dalkey Island is a beautiful place where, apart from nature, there are two fantastic buildings - the Napoleonic Martello Tower from the 19th century (one of many in the Dublin area) and the ruins of St. Begnet’s Church from the 9th or 10th century.

Mentioned Muglins Lighthouse is from 1880.

I’m very happy with the outcome anyway. I’ll get back to the island by boat next time.
